Creative EXPO Taiwan (CET) 2016 will officially open on April 20. To expand the promotion and share with more citizens Taiwan’s cultural and creative dynamics, Ministry of Culture launches “CET Fringe Shops” on April 1, so all people can make use of the guide on CET official app to visit 250 quality stores and venues, and join the online point collection campaign for chances to win wonderful prizes.
As a continuation of CET 2015’s theme of “the City is the Exhibition Hall and the Exhibition Hall is the Life,” Ministry of Culture expands the scale of the event to involve 250 stores and venues near the three major exhibition sites at Huashan 1914 Creative Park, Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, and Expo Dome, as well as other venues operated by the Ministry; the shops will provide diverse experiences and discounts in accordance to own unique features and resources.
According to the Ministry, over 200 stores near the three main CET venues are participating in the campaign, such as Macromaison, Pinchajii Tea House, tAKUMI, and Peacock Bistro, providing visitors rich and diverse cultural and creative experiences; furthermore, venues operated by the Ministry, such as Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, NTCRI Taipei Branch, museums of aesthetic life, and five major cultural and creative parks will all be part of the event, with an aim to recreate the unique taste of the city for this year’s CET, and share with all people Taiwan’s rich and abundant cultural and creative energy.
The Ministry also points out that “CET Fringe Shops” is categorized into “Drinks,” “Exhibition Spaces,” “Feasts,” and “Living.” In addition to the integrated online to offline (O2O) experience, where guided tours are available via the official app and all participants can collect points to enter a lucky draw, the organizer also takes into considerations the unique features of each participating store, and devises walking routes for in-depth exploration of CET Fringe Shops, allowing all visitors to embark on own exclusive cultural and creative journey starting from April 1.
To manifest the diversity of Taiwan’s cultural and creative industry, “CET Fringe Shops” has gathered stores and shops of various types, including crafts, entertainment and books, compound spaces, exhibition spaces, fashion, and food, through open call process, and integrated all stores to launch promotions or experiential activities, inviting all people to be part of the fun. Also, by combining CET FB fanpage posts and feature stories, the organizer aims to utilize the fringe shops to stretch CET out of the main venues, allowing enthusiastic citizens and domestic and oversea buyers to further explore Taiwan’s outstanding cultural and creative services and products.
